Micropeels

What is MicroPeel with Dermasweep MD?

MicroPeel with Dermasweep MD uses a machine which allows a minimally-invasive skincare procedure using advanced exfoliation to gently reduce dead skin cells that dull the skin.

How does it work?

The Dermasweep MD machine cleans the skin by removing black and whiteheads via suction. Then polishes the skin to remove old and dead skin cells.

What to expect during your treatment?

The first step in a MicroPeel with Dermasweep MD treatment is to clean the skin and remove cell build up on the surface. A specialized suction wand is used to open up the pores and remove blackheads and whiteheads without traumatizing the skin. At NOVA DERM INSTITUTE, we then utilize a sophisticated diamond-encrusted wand to suction and gently polish the outer layer of the skin to reduce dead skin cells. This process is followed by a custom peel picked by your skin care professional to address your specific skin issues. It’s a quick process, takes fifteen to twenty minutes, that reduces discoloration, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines. Most clients leave our office feeling younger and a lot more comfortable in their skin.

What to expect after your treatment?

You should avoid exfoliating products and products containing harsh ingredients that could irritate your skin for at least three to five days following microdermabrasion. It’s also important to avoid rubbing or picking your skin during this time. Clients that receive Dermasweep MD microdermabrasion combined with a custom peel treatment see their skin look younger by carefully diminishing the appearance of surface irregularities such as fine lines, discoloration, and hyperpigmentation.

What are the benefits of this treatment?

MircoPeel with Dermasweep MD smooths the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It stimulates new cellular turnover and helps with pigmentation. It also improves skin texture and skin tone.

FAQ’s

Does it hurt?

This treatment is considered to be safe and pain-free. You will immediately notice that your skin feels smoother. A typical treatment takes just 20 to 30 minutes, but this can change based on the issue we are targeting.

What are the side effects?

Some people notice their skin feeling a bit tight afterward. Skin may be sensitive and light flaking can occur following treatment for a few days. Do not pick, scratch or scrub away flaking. This can lead to skin irritation and complications. A warm, pinkish glow may last up to 30 minutes after a treatment.

How many treatments will you need?

Lasting and more significant results will occur after three to six treatments spaced about four weeks apart. After care will help extend the benefits of treatments.

How to prepare for the treatment?

Avoid sun exposure for one week prior to treatment. Avoid use of tretinoin, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid 3 to 7 days prior to treatment as directed by your treatment provider. Avoid waxing and/or use of chemical depilatories for 2 weeks prior to treatment. If you have had other skin rejuvenation procedures in the past month, please discuss with your treatment provider beforehand.   Procedures need to have adequate time spacing between them to avoid complications.

Is this treatment permanent?

MicroPeel with Dermasweep MD is not permanent and most clients schedule maintenance appointments every four weeks apart or at least 3 or more treatments a year.

Who can get this treatment?

The MicroPeel can be tailored to all skin types, even sensitive skin.
